Specific personal items needed by residents:

Clothing – Bring four changes of casual clothing including socks and underwear. One pair of open-toed shower shoes for use in the shower. Open-toed shoes are not allowed in the classrooms or hallways. Clothing cannot advertise alcohol/drugs or make derogatory statements. Washers, dryers and detergent are available at the facility at no charge.

Toiletries – Soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, disposable razors, battery operated shavers, shaving cream, wash cloths, towels, and washing pods may be brought from home.

Lockers – Bring a lock and key or a combination lock to be placed on an assigned personal locker.

Money – A Trust Fund Account is available for residents who have cash or receive funds from home (DART Center accepts money orders and bank checks for deposit in the Trust Fund Account – DART Center does NOT accept cash, personal checks, and business checks for deposit in the Trust Fund Account). Residents may have up to $40.00 in their possession; funds in excess of $40.00 will be confiscated and placed in a trust fund account. Weekly withdraw from the trust fund account is available and there is no limit on the amount of money a resident may have in the Trust Fund Account. A canteen is located at the facility where snacks, postage stamps, and toiletries can be purchased.

Mail – Bring envelopes. Postage stamps may be purchased at the facility.

Reading materials – Limited to religious and recovery oriented material. No other reading materials are allowed.

Recreational items – Walkman radios with ear buds and sunglasses are permitted. No external components (antennas) allowed.

Medication – Bring a three (3) month supply of all prescription medications. Do NOT bring over-the-counter medications.

Miscellaneous – If telephones at home are blocked for collect calls, calls to these numbers will not be possible. Residents must have family/friends set up a GTL advance pay account before contact by telephone can be made. GTL can be contacted by telephone at 1-800-483-8314.

NO FOOD FROM HOME IS ALLOWED.
