NCDAC Victim Supports Services administers programs to assist victims of crime.
Our staff assists victims and family members throughout the correctional process in many ways, such as:
- Providing information on an offender's approximate release date, location, custody level, and more,
- Administering automated notifications on offenders' status through the NC Statewide Automated Victim Assistance & Notification Program (SAVAN),
- Addressing victims' concerns about an offender's custody and/or unwanted contact, and
- Providing information on hearing dates, restitution changes, laws and policies.
It is common for crime victims to be concerned about their safety after an offender is sentenced. The information on these pages is provided to help victims plan for their safety and understand the NC correctional system. Please contact us for further assistance.
VICTIM /OFFENDER DIALOGUE
Victim/Offender Dialogue is a victim-centered, confidential meeting between a victim/survivor and the offender who committed the crime against them, or in some cases, against the immediate family member.
