VISITATION POLICY

When: Weekends

Visitation privileges are approved according to the Treatment Phases and take place in the building to which the resident is assigned. In an effort to ensure the safety of each resident, all visitors must adhere to the policies and procedures of DART Center while on the facility grounds.

  • Visitors 18 years of age and over will be required to have a criminal background check and all visitors 18 years of age and over must present a valid photo identification at time of visit.
  • Residents are responsible for mailing forms to their perspective visitors. Visitation privileges will be granted upon an approved criminal background check.
  • Persons in the following categories will not be allowed to visit:
    1. On active probation or released from probation within the last six months (Exceptions can be made by the Facility Manager for immediate family members)
    2. Pending legal charges
    3. Released from incarceration within the last six months (Exceptions can be made by the Facility Manager for immediate family members)
    4. Registered as a sex offender
  • No cash or other items will be accepted during visitation.
  • Initial visitation may be allowed FOUR weeks after the resident’s arrival at DART Center.
  • After the waiting period, weekly visitation will depend on the Treatment Phase of the resident, i.e. Orientation, Main or Re-Entry. Visitation will not occur on holidays.
  • In order to protect the confidentiality rights of all residents, each adult visitor must sign the “Acknowledgement of Confidentiality” register and a sign-in list at the door.
  • Visitors suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be allowed into the facility for visitation purposes.
  • DART Center staff have the right to request visitors to empty pockets at any time.
  • Each resident will be allowed a total of THREE visitors. This total number includes adults and children.
  • Visitors are not allowed to bring food onto the DART Center facility grounds or into any facility building during visitation. Drinks may be purchased from vending machines onsite.
  • No purses, diaper bags or similar items may be brought into the visitation area.
  • Inappropriate behaviors such as long kisses, sitting in laps, or extended displays of affection will not be tolerated.
  • Buildings and grounds are “smoke-free” zones. Visitors should leave all tobacco products, matches, and lighters in their locked vehicle.
  • Violations of visitation policy may result in the visitor being asked to leave the grounds with the possibility of loss of future visitation privileges. Staff reserves the right to suspend visitation activity at any time and may search any item brought on the facility grounds.
