NEW of Extended Limits of Confinement Program
To help keep staff and offenders safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice is transitioning select individuals to serve their remaining sentence outside of a prison under the supervision of community corrections officers.
To be considered for Extended Limits of Confinement (ELC), offenders must NOT be currently serving a sentence for crime against a person during the current incarceration.
All offenders with projected release dates in 2021 will be reviewed for possible participation in ELC. A review does not guarantee participation.
Since the department began transferring offenders to ELC, 1,033 individuals have transferred to this status as of Feb. 24, 2021. Currently, about 458 are actively on ELC. The active number is lower because the majority have completed their active prison sentence and transitioned to post-release supervision.
