The Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice has named Drew Stanley as the new superintendent at Warren Correctional Institution in Manson. Stanley replaces Kevin Barnes, who retired.
Stanley had been the superintendent at Johnston Correctional Institution since 2013. He has been with the Department of Public Safety since 1987, where he began his career as a correctional officer at the former Polk Youth Center.
“Drew’s years of dedicated service and experience in corrections have prepared him for this opportunity,” said Director of Prisons Kenneth Lassiter.
Stanley transitioned to the facility’s diagnostic center in 1989 and was promoted to the center’s director. He was named the Central Region Programs Director in 2004 before being promoted to assistant superintendent for programs at Nash Correctional Institution in 2006.
Stanley is a graduate of North Carolina State University.
Warren CI currently houses approximately 665 male inmates in various custody levels.
