Gasperson Promoted to Assist. Division Administrator for Division IV

Officials with the Division of Community Supervision have promoted Tim Gasperson to Assistant Division Administrator in Judicial Division 4, effective October 2, 2023.

In his new position, Gasperson will oversee Community Supervision operations in the 4th Judicial Division, which covers 25 counties in the western portions of the state.

“Tim’s great skills and experience make him an excellent fit for this new role,” said Tracy K. Lee, deputy secretary of Community Supervision. “In more than 23 years of service in Community Supervision, he has demonstrated his dedication and great value to our team.” 

Gasperson began his career with corrections in 2000 as a Probation/Parole Officer I in Rockingham County and was promoted to Probation/Parole Officer II in 2002. During that time, he served in Rockingham, Buncombe, and Transylvania counties.

He was promoted to District Field Specialist for District 29 in 2013, covering Henderson, Transylvania, Polk, Rutherford and McDowell counties.

In 2014 Gasperson was promoted to Chief Probation/Parole Officer where he served in Buncombe and Henderson counties. In that position, he supervised officers assigned to Adult Recovery Court, Sobriety Court, Sex Offenders and the Transitional Housing Program. 

Most recently, he currently serves as Assistant Judicial District Manager for District 29, a position he’s held since 2019.

Gasperson is a graduate of Western Carolina University. He is currently a participant in Class 21 of the N.C. Department of Adult Correction’s Correctional Leadership Development Program.
