The North Carolina Post-Release Supervision and Parole Commission is notifying you that it is investigating the above-referenced case for parole via the Mutual Agreement Parole Program (MAPP). This notice is being sent to you in compliance with North Carolina General Statute 15A-1371(3).
MAPP is a scholastic and vocational program that is a three-way agreement between the Commission, the State Prison System, and the offender. More information about the MAPP program can be found on the N.C. Department of Adult Correction website: Mutual Agreement Parole | NC DAC.
Information gathered during the investigation from persons for and against parole of the individual, as well as the facts of the case, will be considered by the Commission in making its decision. Upon completion of the investigation, the Commission will render its final decision and all required parties will be notified within ten days of that decision.
The state's current sentencing law, Structured Sentencing, eliminated parole for crimes committed on or after October 1, 1994. However, the Commission has the responsibility of paroling offenders who were sentenced under previous sentencing guidelines.

Victim information, letters received against parole, and the official crime version are considered confidential/restricted/privileged information and not disclosed to the public.
