Officials with the NC Department of Adult Correction (NCDAC) have promoted Robin Griffin to Division Director in Judicial Division 3, effective August 17.
In her new position, Griffin will lead Community Supervision operations in the 3rd Judicial Division, which covers 22 counties in the central portion of the state.
“Robin Griffin is an award-winning manager with a track record of building solid teams and developing talented officers and managers,” said Leslie Cooley Dismukes, secretary for the Department of Adult Correction. “Her decades of experience are an invaluable resource to her division and all of Community Supervision.”
“I am very pleased to promote Robin Griffin to the position of division director,” said Tracy K. Lee, chief deputy secretary of Community Supervision. “She has devoted her entire career to changing lives and building safer communities. I admire her dedication and commitment.”
Robin Griffin has more than 30 years of experience in corrections and community supervision with the State of North Carolina. Most recently, she served as the Judicial District Manager (JDM) in District 22, which includes Alexander, Iredell, Davie and Davidson counties. She was appointed to that position in 2021.
Prior to that, she served as an Assistant Judicial District Manager (AJDM), Chief Probation/Parole Officer (CPPO) and Probation/Parole Officer (PPO).
Griffin has been recognized with several awards, including Judicial District Manager of the Year (2023), Chief Probation/Parole Officer of the Year for Judicial District 22 (2016), the Dr. John R. Larkin Award from the Office of the Governor (2015), and Probation/Parole Officer of the Year (2011).
She received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology from Appalachian State University in 1993, and a Master of Public Administration with a cognate in Correctional Administration from North Carolina Central University in 2000. In 2012, she completed the NCDAC Correctional Leadership Development Program.
