Prison tablets
The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction has a contract with ViaPath/GTL to provide tablet services for offenders to communicate with families and friends. Electronic tablets also provide a way to make phone calls, send text messages, receive digitized mail, access educational and self-help resources and entertainment content. Electronic kiosks and wall phones are also available as alternatives to tablets.
Tablets
Electronic tablets allow people incarcerated in NCDAC facilities to communicate with family and friends by phone or texting, receive their mail, access educational and self-help resources and entertainment content.
AdvancePay Prepaid Telephone Accounts
To purchase phone time for yourself or someone in prison, visit ConnectNetwork, ViaPath's authorized deposit and account management portal. Available deposit methods are listed below:
AdvancePay prepaid calling works by placing money on your phone number so that when an offender calls you, the funds are deducted from the balance on your prepaid account. Detailed account setup instructions are available here.

Phone Debit Accounts
ConnectNetwork PIN Debit accounts allow you to make deposits to an incarcerated person's PIN debit phone account. Once funds have been deposited, the deposit is credited to the account and may be used to make phone calls to any allowed phone number. Detailed account setup instructions are available here.
Incarcerated people are able to check their account balance. When a call begins, they are given an option to check account balance or make a call.

Monthly statements are not mailed, but can be requested by contacting the Customer Service Department.

Additional Service Details:
- Applicable state and federal taxes apply to all calls
- All offender calls are timed for 15 minutes
- Calls to cell phones disconnected prematurely will not be reimbursed
