The Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice has named Tom Brickhouse as the superintendent of Hyde Correctional Institution in Swan Quarter.   In his new position, he will be responsible for all operations at the facility that houses male offenders in medium and minimum custody.   Brickhouse, 47, most recently was the assistant superintendent at Bertie Correctional Institution.

The Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice has named Kevin King as the new facility administrator at Southern Correctional Institution in Troy. King, 61, had been the South Central Region Operations Manager for the 15 facilities in the regional office since July 2015. He was responsible for offender custody, facility safety and ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures.
The Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice has named Ben Anderson as the director at the Burke Confinement in Response to Violation (CRV) Center in Morganton. Anderson, 38, had been assistant superintendent for programs at Alexander Correctional Institution since 2015.
Governor Cooper urges residents to follow their local weather forecast and be prepared for another round of sub-freezing temperatures and winter weather over the next few days – and to exercise caution on the roads in areas were wintry precipitation falls.    "North Carolina is bracing for more cold and snowy weather, and I urge people to monitor their local forecasts closely and take proactive steps to stay ready, warm, and safe," said Gov. State correctional and local law enforcement officers are seeking Wake Correctional Center minimum custody inmate Darius K. Wilcher (#1153699), who was reported missing from his approved work assignment in Raleigh on Friday. He was last seen near New Bern Avenue around 12:45 p.m.
Wake Correctional Center minimum custody inmate Darius K. Wilcher (#1153699), who was reported missing from his approved work assignment in Raleigh earlier today, was apprehended by state correctional staff and the Raleigh Police Department at approximately 3:45 p.m. in Knightdale. Prior to his capture, he was last seen near New Bern Avenue in Raleigh around 12:45 p.m. Wilcher, 26, who is originally from Wake County, was serving a sentence for selling drugs and was admitted to prison on April 15, 2017. He was scheduled for release on June 1, 2019.
