North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement special agents arrested a man this morning on alcohol and weapon violations following an early Sunday morning raid at an illegal nightclub in Bladenboro. ALE agents and deputies from the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office raided The Honey Hole, 88 Spivey and Currie Drive, Bladenboro, after receiving numerous citizen complaints.

Following a 12-month investigation, North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement special agents arrested six people today in Bladen County on drug trafficking and alcohol violations. Special agents raided a home at 1966 Tar Heel Ferry Road, White Oak, and seized 16.4 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, $111 in U.S. currency and non-tax paid alcoholic beverages. In addition, during the year-long investigation, ALE agents seized 202 dosage units of opiates and 24 dosage units of schedule IV, controlled substances, including diazepam and various amounts of illicit liquor.

A state probation officer is free on bond after her arrest on drug charges in Waynesville on Thursday. Jill Rebecca Suddreth, 42, of Candler, was charged after she purchased what was represented to be 60 oxycodone tablets from an undercover officer. She was arrested by the State Bureau of Investigation Diversion and Environmental Crimes Unit and the DEA Tactical Diversion Unit. Suddreth faces prosecution for conspiracy to commit a felony, solicitation to commit a felony, felonious possession of Adderal, simple possession of Soma and maintaining a vehicle.

At approximately 3 a.m. on Sunday, July 19, the State Highway Patrol responded to a head-on collision on I-85 near mile-marker 163 in Orange County. A preliminary investigation has revealed that a 2005 Jeep Wrangler, operated by Chandler Michael Kania, 20, of 847 Anns Court, Asheboro, NC, was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of travel on I-85 near mile-marker 163 when he collided head-on into a 2007 Suzuki passenger vehicle. The Suzuki passenger vehicle contained a total of four occupants. Three of the four occupants died upon impact.

The North Carolina Department of Public Safety currently has positions available and is now hiring correctional officers at Polk Correctional Institution in Butner and at Warren Correctional Institution in Manson.  Numerous positions are available at each location.

Governor Pat McCrory has instructed the Department of Public Safety and the North Carolina National Guard to step up security measures at the NCNG recruiting centers, armories and readiness centers statewide. The heightened security measures are in response to the shootings at the two military recruiting centers in Chattanooga that left four United States Marines and one Navy sailor dead.

July 14 Update: The driver from the fatal collision in Harnett County has been identified: Kody Ray Johnson , 22, of 4837 Lemon Springs Road, Sanford. Attention All News Editors/Producers: A preliminary investigation has revealed on Sunday, July 12, at 10:39 p.m. the State Highway Patrol responded to a single vehicle collision on Simon Road near Buck Road in Johnston County.
