State correctional and local law enforcement officers are seeking offender Ramone Alston (#1326788), who escaped Tuesday morning while being transported to a medical appointment in Hillsborough. Alston, 30, is a Black male with family and friends in the area. He is serving a life sentence for a 2018 first degree murder conviction in Orange County.  He was housed at Bertie Correctional Institution in Windsor. 
WHAT: Quarterly meeting of the State Reentry Council Collaborative (SRCC). The SRCC was established by the North Carolina General Assembly and Gov. Roy Cooper in 2017 and is managed by the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction.
