American Correctional Association auditors have recommended accreditation be awarded to the Forsyth Correctional Center, a high achievement, and another step toward full accreditation of the North Carolina prison system.
“This accreditation is the gold standard in the corrections profession,” said Prisons’ audit administrator Paula Page, whose team of professionals assist and guide the facilities in preparing for ACA accreditation. “I am very happy the ACA has recognized the hard work by our staff and our commitment to excellence.”

Neuse Correctional Institution offender Jeremy Steven Dillon (#0783506) has died in an apparent suicide.
UPDATE 11/10/2022: Offender Joshua P. Ostwalt was apprehended this afternoon in York County, S.C., by local law enforcement. He was recaptured without incident and will be returned to North Carolina to face escape charges.
UPDATED 11/11/2022: Offender Johnny Porche (#0327128) who escaped from the Davidson Correctional Center on November 7, was taken into custody last night by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
The Division of Adult Correction has named Anthony Perry as the new warden of the North Carolina Correctional Institution for Women in Raleigh.

UPDATE: Offender Reginald Jones was captured several hours later in Sanford. He was spotted by correctional staff walking along NC Highway 42 and was taken into custody without incident
