Officials with the Department of Adult Correction (DAC) have promoted David McCarthy to the position of Judicial District Manager (JDM) in Judicial District 2, effective November 25.In his new position, he will oversee Community Supervision operations in District 2 which covers five counties in eastern North Carolina – Beaufort, Hyde, Martin, Tyrrell and Washington.
Congratulations to North Carolina's newest group of Probation/Parole Officers. Fifteen officers from Class 9 and twenty-one officers from Class 9A for 2024 completed their seven-week basic training at the Samarcand Training Academy and at the North Carolina Justice academy, respectively. Officials with the NC Department of Adult Correction (NCDAC) have promoted James Harding to the position of Judicial District Manager (JDM) in Judicial District 16, which covers Robeson, Scotland and Hoke counties. Harding will oversee 85 probation/parole officers and staff who supervise more than 600 individuals in District 16 sentenced to probation, parole or post-release supervision.
Officials with the NC Department of Adult Correction (NCDAC) have promoted Shakitha Johnson to the position of Judicial District Manager (JDM) in Judicial District 20 which covers Anson, Richmond, Stanly and Union counties. Johnson will oversee 70 probation/parole officers and staff who supervise more than 2,375 individuals in District 20 sentenced to probation, parole or post-release supervision.
