The total of fully accredited NCDAC operations is now 32 — including 27 of 54 prison facilities. 
Escaped murderer Ramone Alston was captured shortly before 2 a.m. today at a hotel on Cloverleaf Parkway in Kannapolis, in an operation that included FBI Charlotte SWAT agents, Kannapolis Police and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.  He was taken into custody without injuries to anyone.
A $50,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the capture of escaped murderer Ramone Alston, 30. State correctional and local law enforcement officers are seeking offender Ramone Alston (#1326788), who escaped Tuesday morning while being transported to a medical appointment in Hillsborough. Alston, 30, is a Black male with family and friends in the area. He is serving a life sentence for a 2018 first degree murder conviction in Orange County.  He was housed at Bertie Correctional Institution in Windsor. 
WHAT: Quarterly meeting of the State Reentry Council Collaborative (SRCC). The SRCC was established by the North Carolina General Assembly and Gov. Roy Cooper in 2017 and is managed by the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction. The SRCC is made up of representatives from across state and local government whose agency responsibilities intersect with the incarceration or reentry process for people in North Carolina.
