Governor Stein Announces New Critical Needs Budget

Governor Josh Stein has released a $1.4 billion Critical Needs Budget focused on urgent priorities in health care, public safety, education, and other essential services. It includes $211 million in critical investments for #NCDAC, including pay increases for correctional officers, probation/parole officers, nurses, and behavioral health technicians. Read more here.

Gang Prevention & Intervention Task Force

NCDAC Secretary Dismukes serves as Co-chair of this Task Force committed to reducing gang activity and building safe communities.

ACA Accreditation

As part of its strategic plan, the NCDAC is pursuing American Correctional Association accreditation for all parts of the agency.

Air Conditioning Upgrades

This complex NCDAC project aims to design and install air conditioning at 40 state prisons that lack cooling systems, either partially or entirely, by 2027.
