Hope and 2nd Chances Campaign
The Hope and 2nd Chances Campaign promotes messages of hope, resilience, and transformation through creative expression, literacy, and community engagement. It aims to uplift, humanize, and inspire by involving children and families of those in our custody, staff, and community.
Heart Poster Activity - Children and community members create heart-shaped messages of encouragement at events statewide
Book Readings Across the State - Curated book reading events hosted by NCDAC staff in schools and libraries. The selected books center on themes of hope and second chances.
Legacy Book Project - A long-term project to create original books centered on growth, healing and second chances. Each book will feature stories and artwork reflecting voices within our agency.
Offender Art Contest - A department-wide art contest featuring work from individuals in our custody, displayed at NC A250 to highlight rehabilitation, community connection, and creative expression.
Message in a Bottle: Community Letters - Community members will write short letters/notes of encouragement to individuals in our custody. Reminding those inside that they are not forgotten.
All-In NCDAC Shirts - Colorful Uniform - Colorful “All-In NCDAC” shirts for staff to wear at school visits, book readings, and community events to create a joyful and welcoming presence, highlighting NCDAC's commitment to second chances.
Hosting Groups at Roanoke Farm - Hosting civic groups, universities, and faith-based organizations to tour the farm and learn about its role in rehabilitation
