Community Development and Outreach

The Community Development and Outreach section develops and maintains the NCDAC Public Participation Plan, providing the framework for meaningful public engagement across the agency. Through the Plan, the section strengthens relationships between NCDAC and the communities it serves by fostering strategic partnerships, expanding public engagement, and supporting initiatives that promote rehabilitation, prevention, and positive outcomes.

The section collaborates with internal and external partners to develop resources, educational opportunities, outreach strategies, and engagement opportunities that strengthen community connections and support NCDAC's mission.

The section supports a variety of initiatives, including the Hope and 2nd Chances Campaign, Family Academy, community outreach events, youth engagement, and collaborative partnerships with community organizations that advance NCDAC's mission. Guided by evidence-based practices, including the Science of Hope, the section develops programs, strengthen partnerships, encourage meaningful community engagement, and build public trust. Together, these efforts help position NCDAC as a leader in the corrections field while fostering a more innovative, resilient, and future-focused agency prepared to meet evolving needs.
