The Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice has named Jeffrey McGhee as the new warden of the Lincoln Correctional Center in Lincolnton.
McGhee had been the security coordinator in the Western Region Office.
Today, Governor Roy Cooper appointed Eddie Buffaloe to lead the Department of Public Safety as Secretary.
"Eddie Buffaloe’s experience, vision, leadership, management skills and strong law enforcement credentials make him ready for this critically important role and I’m grateful he is willing to take it on," said Governor Cooper. "As an officer, he has walked the beat on our streets and in our prisons and as a Chief of Police his leadership has shown that he understands the importance of building trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve."

The offender was participating in the Extending the Limits of Confinement (ELC) initiative.

The Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice has named Christopher Nichols as the new warden of the Gaston Correctional Center in Dallas, North Carolina.
Nichols, 39, had been a captain at Alexander Correctional Institution in Taylorsville.

Crawford had been the assistant superintendent for custody at Mountain View Correctional in Spruce Pine.
Offender Angelo Smith (#1507327) died Friday at Pamlico Correctional Institution after an apparent suicide. He was found unresponsive at 9:11 p.m. First responders and EMS responded and worked to resuscitate the offender.

Jacobs, 53, had been the warden at Tabor Correctional Institution in Tabor City.
Offender Tyler Lanier (#1525824) died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021, at Scotland Correctional Institution after an apparent suicide.
He was found unresponsive in his cell around 9:30 p.m. The prison’s first responders performed lifesaving measures until local paramedics arrived who also worked to resuscitate the offender. He was pronounced deceased at approximately 10:00 p.m.
