October 14, 2025 North Carolina Debuts the Nation’s First Reentry 2030 Dashboard The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction has announced North Carolina is the first state to develop a dashboard to track progress made toward objectives, strategies, and metrics established in its Reentry 2030 Strategic Plan. October 11, 2025 NCCIW Braille program: Envisioning life after custody Five women in custody have earned the Library of Congress certification in Braille transcription, providing a service for the visually impaired population and a boost to their own reentry prospects. Current Initiatives Reentry 2030 Reentry 2030 is a national initiative that aims to dramatically improve reentry success for people exiting prison & for those under community supervision. Gang Prevention & Intervention Task Force NCDAC Secretary Dismukes serves as Co-chair of this Task Force committed to reducing gang activity and building safe communities. ACA Accreditation As part of its strategic plan, the NCDAC is pursuing American Correctional Association accreditation for all parts of the agency. Air Conditioning Upgrades This complex NCDAC project aims to design and install air conditioning at 40 state prisons that lack cooling systems, either partially or entirely, by 2027.
